Hi I'm Emily

My name is Emily and I live in England. I love reading, writing and being creative. I adore music and love to sing. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born into the church so I've been a member all my life. I love the gospel so much and I don't know what I would do or where I would be without it. It is a huge part of my life that it seems impossible to imagine my life without it. I am a family and friend orientated person and just like the gospel of don't know what I would do without them and they definitely keep me rooted in the gospel. I love people who accept me for who I am and can make me happy and laugh and I try to do the same. I love reading, me and my mum have the reading gene I think, we have probably hundreds of books in our home. You can never have too many books. As well as reading, I love writing my own stories. I'm very creative so I always loved the creative subjects at school. I love art, anything crafty and I love textiles, designing and making clothes. I've just completed my first year of college studying Fashion and Design. I absolutely adore music! Like books, I have an extremely wide range of music that I love. I have to listen to music everyday, I love to sing. I can play the piano, I don't play as much as I like to and I also used to play the violin. I would love to play the guitar. I try to be happy so that I can help others be happy.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church but it wasn't until I was 14 that I felt that I truly had my own testimony and faith. It came when I was in my first year of Seminary and we were studying the book of Mormon. After studying the Book of Mormon in Seminary and for myself, praying, asking and pondering my answer, my Testimony came and hit me like a brick wall. I knew that the Book of Mormon was true and I knew that I was in the right place. Going to Church, Youth Activities and Seminary had only helped my Testimony to grow. My Testimony has always been something that I've struggled to put into words. Everyone's Testimonies are different and personal. But it's something that I just know. I know that this Church is the right and true church. I know that the Book of Mormon is true and is the key stone of our religion. I know that Jesus sacrificed His life for all of us and I know that He would have done it if only one of us was on the Earth. I know that by Him and through Him we can all be saved and be brought back to Him. I know that He knows us all individually. He knows the true intention of our hearts, he knows what we are struggling with and knows what we need. He loves us all unconditionally and He is always with us every step of the way. I'm so grateful to be a member of the church. I have no idea where I would be if I wasn't a member or didn't have my testimony. Being a Mormon doesn't mean the road is easy. It makes it easier if we walk with Him, but we will still be tried and tested. That is what we are here for. To be tested because Heavenly Father KNOWS that we CAN do it! The church means so much to me and I'm so grateful to have this amazing blessing in my life.

How I live my faith

Being involved as much as you can is a great way to live your faith. You have to truly know for yourself that the church is true before you can live it fully. And I truly know it is true! The youth program is my time where I truly feel myself. Youth dances, activities FSY, Youth Temple trips, firesides, camp and so much more. Being with the youth is one of my favourite parts of this gospel. In England, most of us go to school and we are the only members and sometimes it's hard and we feel alone, so it's really important to be with the youth and strengthen each other. I try to be the best example I can be and I've had comments from people at school and then college where they've picked up on the fact that I don't use bad language or don't do certain things but do others. I've been asked a lot of questions by friends at college and I've been able to talk to them about the gospel. Sharing small quotes or part of your testimony or something you've learnt or felt that day on social media is a small but effective way to share the gospel. You never know whose life you can touch. Be happy! The gospel brings so much joy and happiness so show it and share it!
