Hi I'm Elizabeth

I play tennis. I love art history. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a college student studying art. I've had the opportunity to study abroad in Prague and Italy to learn more about art and its history. I play tennis. I enjoy watching movies and hanging out with my friends and family.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the LDS (Mormon) church. But just because I was born into the church doesn't mean I was immediately converted. I grew up learning all the stories from the scriptures and the difference between right and wrong. I was baptized at age 8. When I was about 13 or 14 I started asking myself if I had a testimony. I always though I did, but now I wasn't sure. I kept going to church and praying and doing what I usually did, but I wasn't sure I had a testimony of my own. When I was 16 I had an amazing teacher at church. She challenged all of us to look for ways that you see God in your daily life. Every Sunday she would ask each of us how we saw God's hand in our life that week. When I started looking for these things, I saw them everywhere. I started to really gain a testimony. She also got me in the habit of reading my scriptures every day, even if it was only a couple verses. My testimony is something that I will always cherish and will continue to grow. I have a testimony that I know this church is true; that Joseph Smith really did speak to God and restored the true gospel on this earth. I believe that Thomas S. Monson is the prophet today who gives us revelation and guidance straight from God. I am so grateful to have the scriptures and commandments that give us guidance. I believe that the Book of Mormon is true and that it was written for us in this day. I believe that Heavenly Father knows and loves each and every one of us. He knows our full potential and can help us reach it if we put our trust and faith in Him. I am extremely grateful that we can return to live with Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ through the atonement. I know that Heavenly Father is a loving God, who wants to give us so many blessings, but also wants to make us stronger. I am grateful to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

How I live my faith

I was born in the LDS (Mormon) church and love attending meetings on Sundays, as well as, activities throughout the week. I love the the community the LDS church gives me. While in college, Family Home Evening has become one of my favorite week activities. Family Home Evening is one evening a week that is dedicated to family time, where you pray, study the scripture and have a fun activity. Since I'm not home in college they put the young people into "families" and we meet once a week to share a gospel message and play a game, like Catch Phrase.
