Hi I'm Linda McGraw

I'm a mother, daughter, Nurse, wife and a friend. I've been a Director of Nursing for over 15yrs serving others with ill health.

About Me

I love reading books (suspense novels) and taking pictures of my family. I love spending time on with my family and making memories. I'm a mother of 3 beautiful daughters who all have accomplished education and careers. My oldest is a pediatric doctor at a children's hospital in Portland. My middle daughter is a talented graphic art designer, My youngest is a gifted midwife and works in a busy women's health clinic serving others. I married the most wonderful kind husband who is a talented chemist. I've been blessed with the gospel my entire life.

Why I am a Mormon

So why as I a Mormon? Well I'll tell you this is a personal testimony that is specific to me and my journey on this earth. When I was a teenager I really put the challenge of the Book of Mormon to test. I read and prayed and received the confirmation from the Spirit that this book was true and Joseph Smith was a true and living prophet who God worked through to restore the gospel on the earth. I'm a very strong personality and I've had to learn from myself why I'm a Mormon. I'm proud to have the heritage of my faithful parents who choose to have patience and faith and put up with me. Being a Daughter of God is no easy task but this makes all the difference. Have I had challenges and life disappointments? Of course, being Mormon doesn't change the world but rather makes the world manageable. I wouldn't have the knowledge of the eternities and the hope of the future without the complete understanding of what my Savior has done for me. He died and lived and suffered for all mankind. I'm a better person for having the gospel of Jesus Christ in my life. I want to leave in imprint on this earth that will be for the good of others. I want to leave a heritage of knowledge of what it means to be a faithful Daughter of God. I'm a professional woman who has worked in the work force most my adult life. Being active with the gospel has helped me in many of my professional work situations. The Lord has guided me to make the right decisions at the right time.

How I live my faith

I live my faith through serving others. Not only in my career as a nurse but through the many callings I've had in my family ward. I started serving through teaching the young women in our ward then later in our stake. I've had the opportunity to teach music to the young children and play the piano during church services. It's been such a joy to help others through working with the women of our ward in organizing service projects for shut-ins and assisting with meals for many of those in are area in need.

What do Mormons believe is the purpose of life?

Linda McGraw
The purpose of life is to return to our Heavenly Father. But in order to return we have to understand the ground rules of this life as we know it. With out a map or directions to find the way back we would be lost. We must have a physical body to house our spirit. Through this body and experience on this earth we have to experience many physical pains and earthly distractions. These trials help us become stronger and gain the ability to be more like our Father in Heaven. Why are we here if its not to be with those we love. Life's experiences tell us that happiness is best when we are with those whom we love. It's such a great comfort to know that there really is a purpose of my life and I'm not alone in this world. I have others who have gone before me and those who will follow my foot steps. I want to give them footstep that help them return to there loving Heavenly Father and His Son Jesus Christ. This is my testimony. Show more Show less
