Hi I'm Claudia

I'm from a small town in Idaho. Currently preparing to serve a church mission in the beautiful Costa Rica.

About Me

I'm grew up in Idaho, where I recently graduated high school. I love our beautiful, snowy winters! I finished one year of college, but am taking a break to serve a church mission in Costa Rica, which I cannot wait for! I'm a convert to the church, and the only member in my family. I love reading, seeing new places, and learning!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a convert of two years. I come from a Catholic family, and although we did not actively attend church, I grew with the knowledge of Christ. I began going to the LDS church at about 12 years old, attending activities with friends. I would attend church quite regularly and even took some of the religious classes offered through the church in high school. You could say I was pretty immersed in the church, even some of my friends didn't know that I was not a member. I continued to go to church and activities, but never thought about committing to baptism, even after having missionary lessons a couple of times. I just went to church because, even though I didn't acknowledge it then, I felt the spirit that was present there. As I got older, I began to think a little more of baptism, but pushed the idea back because I wanted to wait for my family to commit as well. They wouldn't budge so easily and still haven't, but I was intent on waiting for them. That was until my family went through a really tough trial my junior year of high school. I remember being devastated and lost, but I decided to go and do what I had heard and seen others do so much as I had attended church- i knelt down to pray and asked for guidance. I felt Heavenly Father's love for me and knew he was listening to me. I knew that although my problem wouldn't immediately be solved, I was not alone because my Savior, Jesus Christ knew exactly what I felt. I still don't know how to explain, but I felt that I needed to be baptized. I don't know why then, as opposed to prior years of attendance, but that's the feeling that remained. I decided to finish reading the Book of Mormon, then pray about baptism again. I finished it a few months later that year, & asked again. I received my answer, and began taking the lessons, with real intent this time. I was baptized in May with the support of my amazing family & friends. I'm a Mormon,& could not be more grateful. This is the church of Christ, and it is true.

How I live my faith

I currently serve as a teacher for one of the classes, and am a member of my ward's missionary council, as well as preparing to serve a full-time mission.
