Hi I'm Bain Varner

I was born in Joplin Missouri, and joined the church when I was 17 and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was raised catholic and went to catholic school until I moved to Arkansas in 7th grade, my first encounter of the church was when I was on the wrestling team. I began to hang out with my Mormon friends I never talked to them about the church much, but my best friend encouraged me to take the lessons. At first I didn't care or engage in the lessons but eventually I read the Book of Mormon, I was baptized when I was 17 and 3 years later, I am a month away from reporting to the MTC and serving a mission in St. George Utah.

Why I am a Mormon

I started off with a group of friends who weren't really good friends, until I met a group of LDS youth on my high school wrestling team. I could tell there was something different about them and I liked to hang out with them more than my old group of friends. They eventually invited me to take the discussions and read the Book of Mormon. The Holy Ghost helped me know that the church was true and I knew that I wanted and needed to be baptized. It has been three years and it has been the best decision I have ever made. I am grateful for this church and the guidance and blessings it brings into my life.

How I live my faith

I try to help volunteer at church events that reach out to the community that I live in. I like to go see those who are sick or in need and do what I can for them.
