Hi I'm Russell

I live in Nebraska. I am a high school teacher. I am also a Mormon.

About Me

I love country life! I really enjoy critters or all kinds; wildlife, birds, livestock, exotics, they fascinate me. I love building and repairing things. It is reward to see life returned to something that has been wasting away. I also love my family. they bring me so much joy, children can be testing but they are worth it!

Why I am a Mormon

I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the true church. I can feel God's love for me, He loves you also. He wants all of us to return and be with him and this is possible for all of us. Ask him and he will let you know. I love being a member also because it helps me to be a better person, husband, father and all of the other titles that I carry. It makes me and my family happy. I can't imagine life without it.

How I live my faith

I volunteer in my area by coordinating the church members with the work of the full-time missionaries. I do this because I am blessed so much from the church and I want everyone around me to share in that too!

Why don’t Mormons have paid clergy?

Russell
The fact that no one gets paid is a huge testimony builder for me. I know that people aren't in it for alternative reasons. It also means that each of us gets an opportunity to share our feelings and grow from it. Show more Show less

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Russell
Missionary work is important because we want everyone to be able to receive the blessings of the gospel. A full-time mission is a great way to do this. It is not a requirement to go on a full-time mission, but it is a very rewarding opportunity. There are endless opportunities to be a missionary throughout our lives, not just at 18.
