Hi I'm Austin Anderson

I grew up in a small town in Wyoming. I am currently serving in Bulgaria as a missionary. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am 18 years old, and I just graduated from high school. I like technology, and I like to play video games with friends and family. In high school I played Basketball and golf. I love to hang out with friends and play sports with them. I like to hunt, shoot guns and my bow. Plus reading books is one of my favorite activities.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I believe it is the true church of our Heavenly Father, and I believe it is this way, because i have had many experiences in my life dealing with faith. I will share with you a story about myself. When I was younger around the age of 4, I had a Kidney that had stopped growing and had stopped working. Which made me extremely sick. When I was taken to the doctors they told my parents that they could not find what was wrong with me, they had no idea what was making me sick. Then one night my family all got together and prayed for help from our Heavenly Father, and to keep me safe. Then my Dad, and my bishop then gave me a blessing to heal and to be safe. The very next day when we went to the doctors office, they had found what was wrong with me. Which was that my kidney had stopped growing and seemed to have malfunctioned and they did not even know why. But they ended up rushing me into surgery and after surgery I woke up in my hospital room, With my Mom and Dad there along with my sisters and my brother, and my 4 grandparents. Then after a few days I was able to walk again, and I was perfectly healthy. Later in my life I was able to run cross country, play basketball, and do track. And I believe that this was all possible because the blessing that my dad did for me kept me safe and well.

How I live my faith

I live my faith mainly by living by the commandments and helping others not only in my church but those in the community. I have helped put together rodeos, family get together's, and I also teach the little kids in primary every Sunday.

Where did Mormonism and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints begin?

Austin Anderson
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints began around 200 years ago with a man name Joseph Smith. When Joseph Smith was a boy around the age of 14 years old, he wanted to know which church he wanted to join, but could find no definite answer. So he went out into the woods and prayed to our Heavenly Father about which church to join. That is when our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ appeared before him. Telling him that he should join no church, but instead create his church which was the Church of Jesus Christ of latter day saints. Within the next ten years Joseph Smith was visited my messengers to help him translate the Book of Mormon and to receive the authority to organize the church. Show more Show less

What is the Book of Mormon?

Austin Anderson
The Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ. It teaches about him, Testifies of him, and talks about his gospel which he taught to the Nephites and Lamanites in the Americas. One thing amazing about the Book of Mormon is we can gain more knowledge about Jesus Christ and our loving Heavenly Father through the Prophets that wrote the Book of Mormon several hundred years ago.
