Hi I'm Tanner

I live in Herriman, Utah. I love sports and school. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love living life! I love my friends and family, sports, school and learning, and most importantly the gospel of Jesus Christ! I am currently preparing to serve in the Peru Trujillo South Mission. I know it will be a life changing experience for me, and although I'm nervous I can't wait to get started! After my mission, I will attend college in hopes of becoming a radiologist. I have always wanted to be a husband and father and am really looking forward to starting a family of my own in a few years.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know this church is the only church that has the fullness of Jesus Christ's gospel established during his earthly ministry, as well as the priesthood authority to administer that gospel. I have come to know this by living the gospel! Like Christ teaches in John, "If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself." Alma, a Book of Mormon prophet, teaches much the same thing when he says, "Awake and arouse your faculties, even to an experiment upon my words" (Alma 32:27). I have tried doing his will and experimenting upon his words. As I have done this, the Holy Ghost has testified to my heart that the gospel is true! Peace and light have entered my life as a result. I wouldn't give it up for anything! In a world of so much confusion and opinion, Jesus Christ's gospel is an unmistakable path back to happiness, both in this life and in the life to come.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith all the time through my example. One of my favorite verses of scripture is Matthew 5:16-"Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven." Keeping the commandments gives light to our lives, and that light is noticed by others! I do my very best to keep all of Heavenly Father's commandments, like reading the scriptures, praying, serving my fellow men, and listening to the promptings of the Holy Ghost. I have held a few callings in my ward, specifically in my own group of similar-aged boys. The primary purpose of these calllings in my eyes was to help my friends come to Christ and find the joy of living his gospel. The teenage years can be really tough, a time where kids are trying to find their footing and personality among so many different voices. Living the gospel and listening to the prophet gives such a clear, distinct path for everyone to follow, but especially those teenagers. As a leader to them, my primary goal was to help them find that path, and then help them show it to their peers as well!
