Hi I'm Thomas Smartt

Born in Tennessee and raised in Florida. I have a passion for photography and music. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up by the beach and have had the opportunity to travel to some incredible places in the world. My favorite hobbies are playing the guitar and photography. I love seeing new places as well as meeting new people. I love being outside doing anything from scubadiving to biking! I have been called to serve a mission in the Sao Paulo Interlagos mission. I will be speaking the Portugese language and I am thrilled to serve the beautiful people of Brazil.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church. My parents are members and they taught me from when I was young the basic princapals and truths of the gospel. I know that what the church teaches is true and it can bless the lives of the members and those around them. I have a solid testimony that Joseph Smith was a prophet called of God. I know the Book Of Mormon to be the word of God and another testament of Jesus Christ. I love the Lord and try my hardest to keep the commandments and live my life in harmony with the teachings of the Prophets. One principal that I really love about the church is the fact that familys can be together forever. If a loved one dies we have the opportunity to be with them again! Marriage becomes eternal and forever and that is something that I want to have in my life.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being an example. I am in no way perfect and have a lot I still need to work on, but I try my best to show my faith by how I live my life. I try my best to share the gospel with others. One thing that I do to help the members of our local congregation is hometeaching. I have someone else in our ward who I go and visit other members houses. While we are there we learn of any needs that they might have, help them by serving them in any way possible, and teaching them. I have had the opportunity to do service work for the people of Guatemala. While I was there a team of other members and I provided medical care to the impoverished individuals. It was an incredible expierence to be able to serve so many people and expierence the joy and love that eminates there.
