Hi I'm Sister Farber

I enjoy baking, I make the best cinnamon rolls known to mankind (or at least to my mother). I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am a college student at BYU-I studying psychology. My dream is to become an occupational Therapist one day. I come from a blended family of twelve, in which my siblings are my best friends. We enjoy doing various activitys such as hiking, swimming, and running. I play the violin and a little bit of the guitar and enjoy a wide variety of music.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that "The Church of Jesus Christ of Letter-Day Saints is the true church of God. I know that God hears my prayers that he knows my every thought. There has never been a dark time in my life in which God has failed to bring me light. Yes life is hard, each of us are asked to bear trials which seem impossible to bear but if we just step forward in faith then God will help us. I always thought I had the perfect family until my dad decided that he wanted to live a different life style, this caused my mom and my dad's marriage to crumble. I recall attending three different schools my seventh grade year, while my parents marriage bounced back and forth. Finally, when I was 14 my dad left my mom with all eight of us kids. He had turned to drinking, and every other vial substance that life has to offer. We were extremely poor; however, we learned how to be happy, and to joke about the bad times. I finished my credits early my senior year of high school, and I found myself working three jobs, frantically trying to earn money for a mission. I managed to save enough for a mission and obtained enough scholarships to attend a semester of college before leaving. last month on the 20th of December I returned home to spend some time with my family before leaving on my mission to Costa Rica in January. The night before Christmas eve found me sitting in the living room talking to my family. I looked over at my mom and noticed that she was crying. We all grew silent as she proceeded to tell us that our dad had just died. A long pause followed as we all absorbed the news. I felt Gods love around me as he comforted my worries. As I thought about my life I realized just how much God has helped me and has been there for me. I can't imagine my life without this church, it has brought me great peace in this contentious world. I know that this is the true church of God.

How I live my faith

I live By faith by trying to trust in God in my trials. It is so easy to say that life is to hard, to say "I am having a rough day, so I think I'll take the day off from religion"; however, God never takes a day off from helping us, he is always there. I know that God wants the best for me. I know he is not asking me to keep the commandments, because he wants to make life harder for me, rather its because he can see the bigger picture and knows what is best for me. This knowledge helps me to leave the party if it gets raunchy, to talk to the person that everyone avoids, to dress in a way that reflects my appreciation for the body and the life that God has given me. It helps me to not give up just because its convenient. Not everything makes sense to me; however, I had learned time and time again that if I press forward in faith, then God will give me understanding and a peaceful mind.
