Hi I'm Russ

I grew up in Idaho and Las Vegas, NV. I am a father, an architect and an outdoors enthusiast. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a dad and an architect. I love the outdoors and spend my time cycling, mountain biking, hiking, skiing, and in-line skating.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born to parents who actively attend church meetings and magnify their callings. They have been a great example of service and faith in my life. They taught me to love the Lord and be the best person I can be. As I grew and especially on my mission, I learned to love the Lord and appreciate His gospel. A couple years ago I struggled as I was going through a divorce and all the trials associated with that. I felt the Savior's love and guidance as I battled through those trials in my life and gained a much better understanding and enthusiasm for His atoning sacrifice as He lightened my burdens and lifted my pain and sorrow, showing me hope for better things to come through obedience to His commandments and perseverance. I have found peace and happiness in my Savior.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by doing my best to live a Christ centered life showing love and respect for those around me. I like to serve people and help them feel good about themselves. I serve in my church callings as a young men's adviser and ward membership clerk, both callings I really enjoy. I have worked with the young men for years and really enjoy their enthusiasm, strength and spirit. They are truly examples to me in my life. I love working with the bishopric to witness the amazing things these inspired men do to serve the Lord in His church. It is a humbling experience.
