Hi I'm Eric

I'm from a small western town with a big western heart. I love home design, nature, and cleaning. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I grew up a large ranching community in a small town in Northern Wyoming. My father's family has lived in the area for over 100 years, but it wasn't until I was six that we returned. There I developed such an appreciation for nature and all of God's creations. I graduated from the local high school in 2014 with a class size of 10...yes as in ten. After graduating from school, I attended two semesters at Utah State University in the heart of Logan, Utah. Currently, I am preparing to serve a mission for the church in the great state of California. I will serve from late October of 2015 to October 2017 and I am extremely excited for this wonderful opportunity. I have been a member since the age of eight and grew up in a home filled with the Gospel and the Spirit of Christ and have been looking forward to this moment for much of my life. So that's me up to this point, but I can't wait to see how the future will play out!

Why I am a Mormon

As I mentioned, I grew up in a LDS or Mormon household, which has been an immeasurable blessing in my life. As a kid I learned many of the principles of the gospel and came to develop a deep appreciation and love for the gospel. However, there was a point in my life when I needed to know if what I was learning was true. At about the age of 15, I knelt down in solemn pray and asked my Father in Heaven to know if the Book of Mormon was the word of God, if Joseph Smith was truly a prophet, and ultimately whether the church was true. The feeling that followed this simple prayer wasn't anything profound or life shattering, but was a still, small whisper in my head which said "You already know the answer." That simple statement, combined with the knowledge that this is the only true and restored gospel of Christ on this Earth. I honestly don't know where I would be without my faith. I would be lost and alone in this world, for even when no others are around me, I know that I have the sweet companionship of the Holy Ghost, as long as i am living worthy of it, with me always.

How I live my faith

I find that I am strongest in my faith when I am performing acts of service towards my family members, friends, and random strangers. I find that when I lose myself in service, I tend to grow closer to my Heavenly Father and his teachings. I also develop an ability to look at those around me in a different light. I sometimes struggle with judging people based on their outward appearances, but when I remember that those individuals I meet and interact with on a daily basis are God's children too and that he loves them, I find those feelings and judgments tend to dispel and are replaced by love and a desire to serve them. Beyond serving others, I love attending my church meetings and reading from the scriptures and other gospel materials. One of my callings in my home ward is a Family History assistant, and through this calling, I have come to develop a deep appreciation and love for you ancestors and their lives. I have greatly enjoyed discovering new family members and I love helping others discover their ancestors as well.
