Hi I'm Abby

I grew up in a small town in Utah. I teach art classes and paint murals in children's clinics. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently an illustration major at BYU. I love to paint, and I've been painting on the walls of my bedroom for years! Recently I started putting this to good use, decorating the walls of our pediatric clinic with murals. I'm about to go on a mission to New York and I'm really excited. :)

Why I am a Mormon

I love this gospel. I feel like it gives me direction and purpose, which make me happy. When I follow the teachings of the LDS church, I feel closer to other people, myself, and God. It keeps me focused on what's important in life, and gives me hope when the world looks grey. I've lived both ways-doubting and believing-and I can say with certainty that believing is much better. I still have doubts and questions. But when I choose to have courage and act in faith, I find light in an often dark world.

How I live my faith

I've been a member of the LDS church since I was eight, so I've had a lot of different callings. At BYU, I was the president of a large group of women from my ward, which I loved. I got to organize the Sunday lessons and check on the girls through the week to make sure they were doing okay. It gave me a chance to know and love all the girls in my ward. Now I'm a nursery leader, which I love just as much. :) A few of the little kids have promised to send me letters while I'm on my mission.
