Hi I'm Allie

I'm about to serve an LDS mission in Concepcion, Chile. I love making music and writing stories. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

One of my biggest passions is creating things and sharing them with others. I love to sing and play guitar. I love to sketch and paint. I love doing hair and makeup, but mostly just enhancing people's natural beauty! I love to write stories and poetry and read the writing of others. I love to travel to new places and experience unique cultures. Bike riding and hiking are passions of mine also, and I really enjoy spending time with the people I love and meeting new people!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into an LDS family with strong parents, but that is not why I am Mormon. I'm Mormon because I have felt the Holy Ghost testify to me of the truths of this gospel from a very young age and I can never deny it. I learned through study and application that this gospel is what can keep us safe from the dangers in this world and help us find peace and joy in our daily struggles. I love the life that we've been given. I'm grateful to God because I know that He has so much power. But one of the most life-changing things I've learned about God through the Holy Ghost is that his love is undeniable, and it can heal even the deepest wound, whether mental, physical, or spiritual. This is what I want to share with others. I want them to know that they can find healing and love and peace and inexpressible joy through our Heavenly Father's plan, and through our Savior Jesus Christ's atonement. I have read the Book of Mormon and I prayed to know if it was true. I know that it is. And I know that we all have a Spirit inside us with divine potential, and if we follow our Savior and keep the commandments of God we'll be able to become our best selves. I know that God loves us, and that through the covenants we make in church, in our daily lives, and in the temple, we can return to live with him in Heaven and be with our families for eternity. This is my life. This means more to me than any amount of money or power could ever mean. Because God loves us, he gave us a way to be happy and come home together. And there is nothing more I could ever need or desire.

How I live my faith

I'm currently living at home and attending my home ward with my family. I have a calling where I get to help little ones recognize the Spirit and their Savior at church. I have also been called to serve as a missionary in the Chile Concepcion mission and am preparing for that as well.

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

I feel God's presence in the world around me, especially when I really pay attention and keep the commandments. I feel the Spirit testify that God is real when I serve in the temple, when I go on a beautiful hike, or simply when I receive a blessing or challenge. Heavenly Father knows us so well. He likes to help us see just how simple the gospel can be if we have faith and humility. Yet, I always remember how complex His creations are and how much I have yet to learn from Him. I love nature and I try to recognize the peace I feel when surrounded by tall trees and sheltered by so many gleaming stars. I can't even comprehend the magnitude of God's power, yet I feel that it's there when I focus on that one concept. I love my Heavenly Father because He chose to be our Father and to make our spirits and likeness parallel to His own. I don't feel worthy of such a blessing, but I know that this life is temporary and that through my obedience and desire to follow Him, I'll be able to see Him again someday. I know that at one time we knew Him, and consequently, I also know it's important to re-build the relationship we had in Heaven with our Father. When I pray to and thank Him, I know He listens intently. All the moments in my life when I was given an unexpected opportunity-whether to learn and grow, act upon inspiration, or be helped by someone or some experience- I know it's because God is shaping me into the person I am meant to become. And He intends this for all of us. Show more Show less
