Hi I'm Chloe

I am half-salvadoreña. I am a STEM college student. I am an adrenaline junkie. and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a college student who is currently majoring in genetics and biotechnology. I have been called to serve as a missionary in México Mérida. I am a tennis fanatic. I love fudge brownies. I grew up in a home with a dad from the United States and a mom from El Salvador. I love all aspects of music. I aspire to do pediatric cancer research.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a family that was centered in the gospel of Jesus Christ. I grew up in Upstate New York, right next to Palmyra, the place where Joseph Smith saw Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ in the Sacred Grove. Because of this close proximity, I grew up with a familiarity of our church history sites. When I was about eleven years old, my family and I took a road trip to Kirtland, Ohio. The sister missionaries took my family and I on a tour of the Newel K. Whitney store where we went upstairs to a room called the School of the Prophets. The sister missionaries invited us to sing a hymn with them. I don’t recall what that hymn was, but I just remember how overpowering the feelings of the Holy Spirit were. Those unmistakable feelings of the Spirit was a meek beginning of the testimony that I have been able to build upon. As I have faced various trials in my life, I have been able to recognize these same feelings of the Holy Spirit helping and comforting me. I am forever grateful for the trials and experiences He has given me that grow and enhance myself. I love my testimony and the unique experiences I have endured to gain it. I will never renounce my faith. I love my Heavenly Father and my Savior, Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

In my church congregation, I share my talent of piano by accompanying hymns and playing prelude music. When I play piano, it helps me share my belief in Christ with those listening. During the week, I set a goal to read and ponder for at least 30 minutes of scriptures daily. This helps me to see God's hand in my life and appreciate the good things around me.
