Hi I'm Megan

I grew up in Utah and I have 4 other sisters - no brothers. I'm a dancer, a seamstress, a student, a missionary, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a full-time missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Peru and love the gospel. I have been dancing since I was really little and I love all styles of dance - ballet, jazz, contemporary, lyrical, hip-hop, modern, tap, etc. I also love to sew. Sewing from patterns is usually what I do and I sew things from dresses, to baby clothes and doll clothes, to purses to quilts. I'm always learning new things and am always up for a challenge. I have 2 older sisters, and two younger sisters, the oldest is 23 and the youngest is 3. I am like a second mom to my baby sister who I have learned to help and take care of to prepare me for becoming a mom of my own someday. I love to smile and love to serve others. Service is something that has helped me to become happier when I go through trials or hardships. I recently lost one of my best friends to suicide, so I know how the bitter sting of death can effect someones life. I love to hang out with friends, and love to have fun.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know with all my heart that this is the true church here on earth today. I grew up in this church, so I don't have some amazing conversion story, but my testimony has grown over the years and is still growing little by little, until I come to total conversion. I have felt the spirit in my life daily and His tender mercies keep me aware that He is with me. I follow Christ's example because it just feels right, and if this isn't right, I don't want to know what is, because I can't imagine my life without this gospel. I know that this church is true, and that the Book of Mormon is another testament of Christ and is very true. It can be a liahona (or compass) in my life today to guide me to do what is right - as well as Thomas S. Monson and our church leaders today. They are called of God and provide us with modern revelation to keep us on the path to return to Christ. I know that Joseph Smith was a true prophet of God who translated the Book of Mormon and had a true testimony of Him. I know that the Heavenly Father and His son Jesus Christ is always there for me when I need him (which is all the time) and that they know and love each and every one of us. I say these things with all my heart that they are true, in the name of Jesus Christ, our Savior, Amen.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being an example of Christ at all times, in all things, and in all places. I have served in many callings for the church over the years, including Laurels (girls ages 16-17) first councilor in the presidency, Relief Society 1st councilor in a YSA (young single adults) ward at BYU-Idaho, and I also served as a Family History Consultant where I would teach different people or families how to use Family Search (a family history website similar to Ancestry.com and others like that) and teach them to use the website to find ancestors that needed temple work done. I loved serving in those callings, and I know that the Lord gave those callings specifically for me. I am also serving as a full-time missionary to share the gospel with the people of Peru. I know that this is where the Lord needs me to serve and am so grateful for the opportunity to do so.

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Megan
The Atonement of Jesus Christ is the most important and most transcendent even in the history of the world. He atoned for each and every one of our sins and died on the cross so that by and through His grace, we can repent and continue our path to Him. If and when we mess up, (because none of us are perfect so we will mess up) we can repent. We are on this earth so by grace, we not only are "saved" but we are changed. It is by that change of heart that grace is used so we can live with our Heavenly Father again. Show more Show less
