Hi I'm Shayla Kae Allred

I grew up in South Jordan, Utah, and have lived there up until now. I like to read, theater, and movies. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm not a 'typical Mormon'. I don't listen to the Mormon Tabernacle Choir for hours on end, and David Archuleta isn't my favorite recording artist. I like skulls and creepy things and I love to be eccentric, in a word. I'm loyal to my friends, and stay strong with my beliefs.

Why I am a Mormon

I see my friends who don't have the gospel in their lives and many of them have family issues, or drug addictions, early pregnancies, things like that. I see their posts on Facebook just saying how much their life sucks and I just feel bad for them because I've been born and raised in a religion that gives me comfort and guidance. This past year, I was a Senior in High School, and I felt that everything was growing to be too much pressure. I had guy problems, a job, I got behind on homework, therefore my grades suffered, and I didn't think I could do it anymore. I also realized I hadn't been going to church every week. So I started going again, and I found it easier to get through daily life. I can't imagine where I would be without this Gospel. Honestly, I don't. I just feel so much love from my ward family, my savior Jesus Christ, and my Father in Heaven, and that gives me strength when I most need it. "The Lord hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love; therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee." --Jeremiah 31:3

How I live my faith

I go about my daily life, just living. I don't feel like I do anything different. I just live the commandments. I don't drink coffee, I don't swear, I don't kill people...I just try to be a decent person and I find myself living my faith.
