Hi I'm Garrett Schaffer

I grew up in Utah, lived in Kentucky for a while, I am a pianist, I'm a pro gamer, I'm a Mormon

About Me

I have always love the outdoors, whether it be hiking or camping. I especially love climbing. I enjoy playing the piano, reading, and playing games with friends. when I was 13 years old, my parents got divorced, It was a very hard time for me, not because my father left after an affair, but because of all the pain it caused my mother. for a while, it was just us and my two sisters. I was very self conscious of myself and was very shy for a while as a result of all the things in my life, I had a very hard time making friends and always stuck to myself. after seeing a motivational video on self acceptance, I decided I had had enough and started forcing myself out of my comfort zone to become more personable, and it worked! I had begun playing piano while people were around (before I would never play until I was all alone) even if I made alot of mistakes, I got myself into the school play and I started actually trying to meet new people by doing things like going to seminary. as I made friends and became more confident in myself, I found that I was happier, I had actually started to smile again, and I even became quite good at the piano! my Junior year I got a jobb a a local Pizzeria to raise money for my mission. I worked there for two years and left shortly before my mission to South Houston Texas.

Why I am a Mormon

(read the "about me" first)I was always raised in the gospel, but for a long time i didn't really have much of a testimony; however, after my parent's divorce, we hit hard times financially and emotionally. We recieved alot of support and love from the local LDS ward and they actively involved us in activities. this support got me to try to build my testimony and through prayer and effort I came to know that this gospel is true.

How I live my faith

I make sure to follow the teachings of the gospel. I take care to spend time with my family and friends accordingly. I didn't really have any callings to fulfill, but I do my home teaching each month and actively try to participate in service projects. I was called to serve a mission in South Houston Texas, Spanish Speaking.
