Hi I'm Meagan Mizelle

I am from North Carolina and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up LDS in North Carolina in a family of ten. I was raised in a small branch where almost everyone was elderly and a convert to the church. Going to church was a chance to be with my "extended family" who loved me and accepted me for who I was. I looked up to the people in my branch because church was very inconvenient for where we were, but we all made it a priority because it brought us happiness. I am now at BYU and I have kept that early understanding of the love and unity between members that I was raised with even though the Mormon culture is very different in Utah, where being Mormon is more convenient and and a large part of the culture.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon simply because it makes me a happier and better person. I have had many struggles as a Mormon, but no matter what, the love that the gospel teaches is a necessity to my character. I am grateful that the gospel helps me to learn to be like Heavenly Father and Christ and how to return to them. As I grow I have more and more questions and doubts and reasons for falling away from the gospel but I also have even more and more answers and love for the gospel that will always outweigh the doubts as long as I move forward in faith.

How I live my faith

I try and live my faith by loving and accepting others despite their background and lifestyle. Christ taught us to love one another and by acting on this, I have been blessed with amazing friends and an amazing companion that are either not Mormon or not the stereotypical idea of a Mormon. I also show my faith by walking the path I have learned to walk in the gospel even when I have questions and doubts. By doing this and having faith that Heavenly Father loves me enough to answer me, I have always been given the answer at the perfect time and in a way that it personally makes sense to my mind and adds to my testimony.
