Hi I'm Jene

I live in the Philippines. I love and value my family so much. I'm a Mormon. I know it. I live it. I love it. I share it!

About Me

I love music. I can never live a day without singing or humming a favorite song, listening to music or playing my musical instruments. I play guitar and the piano and I always love to make my own style, my own words, my own music. I love seeing books but cannot stand long hours of reading it. I love little children and teach them things that are essential to know as a child. I love seeing a field because it brings comfort to my soul. I love collecting bookmarks with such uplifting and encouraging words.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I grew up having a mother who was already a Mormon. Maybe, that time, I had no choice. I go to church, attend primary classes and sing hymns (though not yet a member of the Church). I found it fun and interesting as a child. Yet, as I grow older in the Church, I gained my own testimony of why I am here. I am a Mormon because I would love to be with family for all time and eternity. I am a Mormon because I know Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ lives and are two separate beings. I am a Mormon because I always feel the Holy Ghost guiding me everyday of my life. I am a Mormon because of the Atonement of Jesus Christ. I am a Mormon because I believe in a restored Church, not a reformed church nor a man-made church. I am a Mormon because I know that Joseph Smith is a prophet of restoration. I am a Mormon because The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is true and is headed by the Savior, Jesus Christ. I feel all these testimonies growing as I continue holding on to the words of Christ and always striving to keep His commandments.

How I live my faith

I love to assume a role and choose to be always proactive. Since I was 10, I'm always into the field of leadership. My first leadership role was being the girl scout leader. It started my passion to lead and to serve. I then became my elementary school's vice-president to high school classroom officer, to being president of an academic club of a university. Yet despite these powerful roles, I still find myself weak at times. I know that I am doing my very best. I know I would always want to be proactive to share what is good and right but there were points in my life that I blame myself for things not working out so well. Yet I always find comfort in the truth that I have a divine nature. I am a daughter of God and He loves me. He knows my strengths and my weaknesses. He knows how to help me and comfort me. Failures were meant to make me strong. It was never meant to break me but It was meant to mold me to be the person that God designed me to be.

What is being a Mormon like?

Being a Mormon is simply being a man or woman of God rather that being a man or woman of the world. This would mean following the Lord's standard rather than choosing to follow what the world dictates and what the world wants. A Mormon lives the gospel of Jesus Christ - Faith, Repentance, Baptism by immersion for the remission of sins, Laying on of the Hands for the gift of the Holy Ghost and Enduring to the End. A Mormon knows that family is central to Heavenly Father's plan and that families can be together forever. Show more Show less
