Hi I'm Rachel

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I am currently in the MTC where I have been studying and coming closer to Christ in preparation for the field. I leave for Mendoza Argentina in about 2 weeks, and I am so excited!! I am learning so much here at the MTC, and am so incredibly grateful I decided to serve a mission. I know without a doubt that this church is true. I know that as we do all we can to follow Christ, our relationship with Him, God, and our families will grow exponentially. I love this Gospel! And I am so excited to share this Gospel with the people of Argentina! I know there are people down there I am supposed to teach, and bring them the same happiness and peace the Gospel has given me. See you soon, Argentina!!

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church and grew up being taught that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is Christs' true church on the earth today. I did not gain a personal knowledge of this until much later in my life, however. I have made a lot of mistakes that gave me the excuse that since I had already messed up once, there was no hope for me. It was while going through these incredibly hard times in my life where I, instead of relying how how I felt or what other people may have been telling me, relied solely on the Lord. The peace, comfort, and guidance that accompanied countless tear-filled prayers and sleepless nights aided me in getting my happiness back. I got it back by knowing that I had been forgiven, and knowing that makes me want to share that same happiness with others. I am a Mormon because I know that the happiness I have is eternal and never-ending. I am a Mormon because I know that God loves me. I am a Mormon because I have prayed about it, studied it, tested it, and know without a doubt that this is Christs' true church on the earth today.

How I live my faith

I wear Christ's name every day, and have been called to be His representative and to teach people of His restored Gospel. I do all that I can to help people feel the love of their Savior. As a Sister Missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, I live the Gospel as fully as I can every day, and live each day serving others. There is such a strong Spirit as a missionary, and as missionaries we strive to be a good example for all those around us always.

What is being a Mormon like?

Being a Mormon is often times difficult. However, we draw strength from the things we learn in our classes and read in the Bible and Book of Mormon. We are to be a light in the darkness, an example to the world. Life is meant to be hard, but we know that even if things don't work out the way we want them to, we are becoming who God needs and wants us to be. He has a plan for us because He loves us. Sometimes it may feel like we are wandering around in the dark with no idea as to where to go; that is when we look for the light. We follow the example of Christ and join Him in being a light in the darkness; a light to the nations. Show more Show less
