Hi I'm Max Neves

I was born in Ogden, Utah, USA and have lived in New York City, Seattle, Salt Lake City, and St. George, UT. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am married with five children and eleven grandchildren. I attended Utah State University, Weber State University, New York University and received a master's degree from Brigham Young University. Having lived in Seattle, New York City, Utah and traveling to Europe and Asia, I have learned many good things about people in those areas and their customs. My hobbies are golf, reading good books, and having fun with my family. In my working career (all in medical related fields) I was responsible for human resources and corporate functions of real estate, training, security, safety, public and community relations. I retired from work in 2014.

Why I am a Mormon

I believe there is a Supreme Being which is God, Our Heavenly Father. I am certain beyond doubt that we are children of our Father in Heaven, that we lived as spirits with Heavenly Parents before we came to this earth. God is no respecter of persons, meaning that he loves all his children equally. All who are born on this earth came here willingly; that we were taught the reasons why we came to earth; (1) to gain a physical body, (2) to gain experiences and knowledge, (3) to go through earthly trials and difficulties, (3) to become part of earthly families, (4) to learn the difference between good and evil, (5) to learn to obey God's laws. After this earthly life we will live again and overcome death through the Atonement of Jesus Christ, having our physical body and spirit be reunited. Jesus came to earth to experience the pain and suffering of everyone, to pay the price for our sins and misdeeds if we repent and keep the commandments, allowing us to return to the presence of our Heavenly Father. I know with complete certainty that Jesus has restored his Church in these the last days, that he will come to the earth in great power and authority, that all will recognize and acknowledge that He is the literal Son of God. His commandments are provided for our happiness, that He has given free will to everyone to accept or reject His laws, church, and Jesus Christ. It is my prayer that everyone had the opportunity to hear His message.

How I live my faith

I strongly believe "where much is given, much is expected." I have been blessed beyond what I deserve or have "earned." In my Mormon ward I have almost always been a teacher (both youth, young adults, and adults) and have served in leadership positions. I donate time and resources in my community at a university, have served on government committees and non-profit charities.

What do Mormons believe happens to us after we die? What do Mormons believe about life after death?

Max Neves
We are all children of God. He organized our spirits in the pre-earth life, through His Son, Jesus Christ, He organized the heavens and this earth, and we will live after death. Show more Show less

Who was Joseph Smith?

Max Neves
Joseph Smith translated the Book of Mormon from ancient records of people in the Americas. He restored the Church of Jesus Christ under the direction of God the Father and Jesus. His story is incredible! It is either true or one of the biggest lies the world has ever known. You can know for yourself by reading the Book of Mormon, sincerely asking God (through prayer) if it is true. Show more Show less
