Hi I'm Carter

I grew up in the western United States. I'm a husband and father. I'm a marathon runner. I love to travel. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am married to an incredible woman who is always pushing me to become better. I am a father to two young boys who keep my wife and me very busy. I love my work in the hospitality industry and I enjoy all things finance-related.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I choose to be. Having faith in a God of miracles brings me great peace. There have been times in my life where I have witnessed miracles that may not have meant much to others, but they meant the world to me and affirmed that God knows who I am and cares about me as an individual. Part of being a Mormon is living in line with covenants and constantly striving to progress. Honoring covenants to take upon myself the name of Christ and to serve others in their time of need brings me great joy and fulfillment. I love waking up in the morning with the mentality of 'how can I become better than I was yesterday?' Knowing that I can give it my all and that I can repent if I falter motivates me to work hard and keep going. My testimony is a simple one. I know that God lives. I know He loves His children and wants the best for them. I know that Joseph Smith restored the gospel in its fullness to the earth. I know that families are forever and this more than anything speaks peace to my soul.

How I live my faith

My faith is woven into every aspect of my life. Wherever I am, I know that I can pray for guidance and wisdom in approaching challenging situations whether at work, home, or church. I truly enjoy helping and serving others and I'm proud to be a part of a Church that teaches to follow the example of Christ. Having been on both sides of the equation, I am learning that it really is the simple things that go a long way in reaching out to those who may not feel like anyone cares. My faith permeates all my activities throughout the week. My wife and I try hard to set a strong example of scripture study and prayer in our home. Even though our two boys are still toddling around, we include them in family prayer and scripture study every night. Some nights are more successful than others, but seeing how this daily time brings us together keeps our faith strong.
