Hi I'm Kesa

I was born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska. My dream is to be an author. I love to sing/play the guitar. I'm a Mormon

About Me

Hey there! Some things about me... Well, I go to school at BYU-I! I've just completed my 2nd semester there, and I'm studying English with an emphasis in Creative Writing! I chose this major because I want to be an fantasy/fiction author. I've wanted this ever since I was little. When I'm not writing my book, I'm reading others. My favorite books are Harry Potter, The Hunger Games, The Selection, The Mortal Instruments/The Infernal Devices, and The Lunar Chronicles. My inspiration author is J.K. Rowling. At the moment, I am learning to play the guitar. I also love to sing! I was in the show choir at my high school for all 4 years, and we even went to nationals in Chicago. Now that I'm out of high school, I fill my time with writing, reading, and watching TV/movies. I am a full-time geek. I am a SuperWhoMerLock-ian. I also love Harry Potter (did I already mention that?), Marvel/DC, Disney, Firefly, and many more. (Hey! My favorite Disney Princess is Kida from Atlantis!) Now, my favorite music is something that people don't normally associate with a Mormon. My favorite genre is rock/punk/metal. I love it! Despite its reputation, it makes me happy and gets me ready to face the challenges I may have. I love music by Halestorm, My Chemical Romance, Paramore, Thirty Seconds to Mars, The Pretty Reckless, and Panic! at The Disco. However, my favorite band of all time is Pentatonix, an all acapella group. They won a show called the Sing Off and are sweeping the world with their music!

Why I am a Mormon

I have chosen to be a member of Heavenly Fathers church because I know it is true. If there is one thing I should believe in, it is this church. I know that he restored the gospel on this earth through Joseph Smith. I know that God the Father and His son appeared to Joseph, and that Joseph was a prophet called of God. I know that he translated the Book of Mormon divinely and that it truly was made for our day. I know that the living Prophet is called of God just as Joseph Smith was. I know that their words come directly from God. I know God loves all his children. I know this church is true because I can feel the love my Heavenly Father has for me, and I Him.

How I live my faith

I've been able to serve in the church many ways. Ive been able to play the piano for my youth group, lead the girls in these groups (which includes planning activities, and making them feel loved). I've also had the opportunity at college to be the leader of a small group of girls and boys. I was able to teach them, and play games with them so that we would all build unity. However, being apart of the church doesn't mean you have to be called to serve in the church, as I was. If you are not called to do anything, you can still serve in the church! I read my scriptures, say my prayers, and do my best to make others feel welcome. These small acts show the Lord that I love him enough to live His gospel. All you need to do is show love to Him and His children.
