Hi I'm Samuel

I grew up in Utah, but lived in Pennsylvania and Italy. I am serving a mission in Yekaterinburg Russia. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I play the oboe and the tuba, and love classical music. I did Science Olympiad during high school and have always like science and mathematics. I did marching band. I like to read, as well as play video games and goof off with my younger brother.

Why I am a Mormon

Though I have been a Mormon all of my life, I continue to be one because of the happiness that it has brought me. Because of my testimony of God, Christ, His Atonement, and the Plan of Salvation I can go through life confident that all will be well in the end, and that even if things seem tough now, I will be able to get through it with God's help, and in the end it will be for my benefit and I will be happier because of it. The church has also given me a set of guidelines within which to live my life, which I now know were given by an omniscient God who wants me to be maximally happy, and that by living within the guidelines that have been established I will be happier than I could be otherwise. I am also a member because of the Book of Mormon, and how much closer to God I have come from reading it and abiding by its precepts.

How I live my faith

In my ward my only calling was as a home teacher, and so I got to teach and be good friends with a family within my ward that I otherwise would not have interacted with. I also helped serve my neighbors by helping them move in or out, which happened quite often, or by doing yard work for the elderly.
