Hi I'm Gail

My life experiences have been intense and joyful. After six decades, I am looking forward to the rest of my life! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a strong believer in education, and I have spent my life trying to improve myself through continual learning. As the mother of 3 boys and 3 girls, I encouraged my children to learn as much as they could in school and to have a healthy curiosity for study and knowledge. Each of our children have completed Bachelor's Degrees, and several have completed post-graduate degrees as well. I retired from a position as Dean of Students of a local community college, and I am enjoying having time to spend with grandchildren and participating in long-neglected activities. My favorite current hobby is sewing and quilting. I participate in a regular sewing group in which we make charity quilts to provide to mothers and babies in need. Sewing is a legacy passed down from grandmothers and my own dear mother, and I am beginning to teach my grandchildren how to sew and make quilts. It is been a joy to work with them as they experience the satisfaction of personal creativity. Another activity which I savor is travel. I have visited several foreign countries, and I love making my way across the United States as well, especially by train.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because each time I have been tested, the Lord has answered my prayers and given me strength to know that He lives and cares about me. I know that Christ is at the head of the Church and that he has given living prophets in the present day to lead and direct us. I have received my own personal revelation that this Gospel is a haven from the trials and challenges of the world. Once when I was a teenager, I decided to test the scriptures for myself and read the New Testament in an effort to disprove its' validity. Of course, the message came to me loud and clear that the Bible is truly the word of God, and I have never forgotten that joyful feeling.

How I live my faith

The Gospel of Jesus Christ is a way of life for me that was instilled in me from birth. Despite living a considerable distance from the headquarters of the LDS Church, my family was always faithful and dedicated to full activity in the programs of the Church. I am seeking to share the same lifestyle with my children, grandchildren, and all people that I meet. I want to be "An example of the believers," as Christ would want of me.

What do Mormons believe concerning the doctrine of grace?

Grace is the enabling power of Christ, which allows us, through his mercy to live worthy to return to live with Heavenly Father forever. We must do all that we can to live righteously and then the pure love of Christ comes into place to take us to the next level of eternal salvation. I am grateful for the doctrine of grace in my life, which assures me that God the Father and His son, Jesus Christ love me and want me to be with them in the Celestial Kingdom. Show more Show less
