Hi I'm Shelby

I grew up in Oklahoma. I am a photographer. I love nature and hiking. I am a mormon.

About Me

I have been a college student, a full-time worker, and now I am going to be a missionary. I am a professional photographer, when my day job allows me to be. I love to hike, run, be active in the outdoors. I find joy in spending time with family. I am passionate about my family heritage. I love going to the temple.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up going to church with my parents and learned many great things about the gospel. When I went to college and was on my own, I decided that I didn't want to be an active member anymore. After a year and a half of living a life without the gospel, I realized how unhappy I was. I was missing a sense of joy and comfort. One summer, I went to visit family and we went to my ancestors graves. They were some of the original pioneers that crossed the plains to Utah. After contemplating the faith that they had for the LDS religion, I felt that I needed to truly live the gospel to see if it's what I wanted for my life. Now, after coming back to the Church and living the gospel, I am going to serve a mission and share this wonderful gospel to everyone I have in contact with because I truly have happiness and joy in my life once again and I want everyone to find joy too.

How I live my faith

I find joy in attending my ward every Sunday. I have made very good friends by visiting and teaching women of my ward. I enjoy watching general conference twice a year. I listen and read the scriptures every morning and pray daily to my loving Heavenly Father. I find joy in doing the small and simple things that bring me closer to God.
