Hi I'm Taylor

I've lived in Maryland most my life, I like working on computers, I once had a pet chicken.

About Me

One thing I love is seeing change. I love getting work done and seeing lasting progress from my contribution. Another thing I really enjoy is working on computers. Shortly after finishing high school, I started working in IT to help pay for college as well as my mission. Working on and studying computers was what I did for years. Of course, you can't really work on computers without enjoying them as well. I'd spend a good bit of time playing games with friends - and making new friends all around the world. Like most people, I also enjoy long walks on the beach - except as long as they're not too long and I'm not really on a beach.

Why I am a Mormon

You know, I grew up in the Church, so growing up I never really ever sat down and thought about joining it. It all just happened. Of course, that's the story of how most people fall away from religion. What's really important is why I chose to stay. I've seen what this Gospel has done in my life. I've seen the blessings of being a part of this church. I've seen the change that's been made of many people who've joined. I've seen the lasting peace that people feel as they come closer to Christ and follow his example. I know this church is where the truth is, and I know nothing will ever change that. This is Christ's church.

How I live my faith

As of right now, I'm serving as a missionary for the church. I devote time out of my life to help people change theirs forever. One incredible thing I love about dedicating two years is that I can help people in any way I can, and I can see that change in their lives.

What is the First Vision?

Taylor
First, understand that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. When He was sent to the earth, He organized His Church with all of His authority and apostles. After a couple of years, the people rejected the very Son of God and crucified Him. He later came back from the dead and revealed Himself to His apostles shortly after He did, but He wasn't going to show Himself to the people again. If they had proof that He was truly the Son of God, they would've had no need for faith. He left the Church to the apostles, and ascended up to be with His father, but as He told them, "the servant is not greater than his lord" (John 13:16). The apostles were rejected and killed as well shortly after. After this, the people lost the organization and authority that was established on the Earth. They weren't ready for it yet. For almost 1,800 years, the people had nobody called by God to lead them. However, the authority and organization wasn't to be kept for long. In the year 1820, it was restored. Jesus Christ and our Heavenly Father appeared to Joseph Smith and brought back what was lost. Show more Show less
