Hi I'm Parker Smith

I'm from California. I ride dirt bikes. I play water polo. I am a missionary in Jacksonville, Florida. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in California and did a lot of water sports such as: wake boarding, water polo, swimming, and surfing. I also did a lot of dirt bike riding and snow skiing with my family. I achieved the rank of an Eagle Scout in the Boy Scout of America organization and am a dedicated worker. I am serving in the Jacksonville, Florida mission and plan on attending BYU to become an anesthesiologist when I return home.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because in a time of absolute confusion and heartache, I received comfort through receiving the divine witness that the Book of Mormon is true and that Christ leads and guides this church TODAY. I am a living testimony of somebody who has taken the challenge of the Book of Mormon to read it, ponder the things within, and pray about it with real intent. Only then did I receive this overwhelming feeling of joy and peace wash over me telling me that what I held in my hands was the most sacred scripture in history. Furthermore, I have felt my Saviors immense love for me. In a time in my life where I felt utterly abandoned and alone, I gave one of the most sincere prayers pleading for help, and in that moment, I felt the immense love and mercy of Jesus Christ that assured me that He was never far away. I am a Mormon because I know the Church to be true. I'm a Mormon because I know the Book of Mormon is the Word of God and, when coupled with the Bible, serve as a complete witness of the divinity of my Lord Jesus Christ. Most importantly, though, I am a Mormon because I know that my Redeemer lives. The tomb is empty. Jesus Christ lives. He lives to comfort each and everyone of us. He guides this church and directs it so that we can one day return to live with our Heavenly Father. I know this to be true.

How I live my faith

I served as a youth leader over my peers in California where I was able to serve and assist those around me. During my time as that leader, I was able to teach and bring others around me closer to Christ. I also served as a leader over the patrols of my Boy Scout Troop and helped to plan service projects and fund raisers for various people and events. I am serving a full time mission in the Florida Jacksonville Mission and am serving diligently to teach and serve anyone and everyone here.
