Hi I'm Emil

I am from Philippines. I am an Engineer and spend a lot of time travelling as a part of my work. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I love travelling and talking to people. I also like sharing my struggles in life and how I overcome those, that in my experience some may know that losing hope would be the last on their list.

Why I am a Mormon

I became a Mormon because a lot of my questions are answered about faith. Almost about anything. I feel like I am much closer to God and I appreciate more the value of our life's trial. That all are just for preparation to meet our God. It all began one afternoon when I saw 2 missionaries sitting on railroad tracks. I asked them who were they looking for. That question leads to another and another, and finally I have invited them in our house. My dad was not a fan of what's happening and he told me that if I continue to entertain the missionaries, I need to move out of our house - which I did. The teachings of the missionaries continues and finally I got baptized. Only after more than a year that my family accepted my new found faith and asked me to go back to our home. Now, our love for each other has never been felt. They may not be members for now, but I know someday we will all together go to Church.

How I live my faith

I was a Youth Representative of our stake. I was also a teacher in Sunday school. I love teaching. The Church has taught me so much about teaching and how I can be an effective teacher.

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Emil
When we talk about the Atonement, I dont actually know where to begin or even what the exact words to say so I am leaving you with my humble understanding of it; The Atonement for me is when Jesus our savior came to earth, obtain a mortal body and suffered. He had to do all the things your comprehension can endure. He suffered. He bled. He died. That all of things we complain about life, He has gone through worst. He experienced that for us. I cant imagine the pain. I always leave me in tears. Yes, He did this for you and me. You may wonder why. I only know one thing, He loves us. Love that is so great. He wants to be with us, and all we need to do is to be obedient, that's all. While being obedient benefits us, it also moves us closer to Him, our Saviour, our Christ. Show more Show less
