Hi I'm Adam

I grew up in North Carolina. I'm on a mission to Milan, Italy. I love me some good barbecue and classic rock. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been serving a mission in Milan, Italy since February 2016. When I get back I will continue my education studying biology. I have always been able to connect well with children so I hope to become a pediatrician, probably because I have a young face so they think I'm one of them or something. In my spare time I play the saxophone and piano, listen to the classic rock and the blues, and do woodworking, which probably all seems really boring and unexciting since it sounds like something your dad or grandpa would like doing but it makes me so happy. I have a large family with 3 older sisters and 2 brothers, one of which is younger than me. It goes without saying that I've gotten used to a bit of chaos being around me so it makes the moments I have to myself, like when I'm listening to music and doing woodworking, super rare and well appreciated.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up as a member of the LDS church with a family who loved me and a supportive group of church members to lead me down the right path. I see people around me make mistakes that I have been taught to avoid and I see how my choice to live the commandments and how my relationship with my Heavenly Father brings joy to my life. Being a Mormon does not mean that I am perfect. I make mistakes all the time and am essentially a sinner but so is everybody else. I recognize my faults and weaknesses and know that only through our Savior, Jesus Christ, can we be made perfect through His atonement. I am a Mormon because I know that through Joseph Smith, God restored the fullness of Christ's church to the Earth and brought the Book of Mormon to pass through the power of revelation and that that same power exists in each prophet of this church. That knowledge affects every aspect of my life and I love that I have been given the opportunity to have it.

How I live my faith

The best way I can try to live my faith is by becoming more like Christ in my behavior and my interactions with people around me. I committed to a 2 year mission for our church because I know that this church is true and that Jesus Christ is my Savior and Redeemer and I wanted to share that message with other people so that they can feel the same joy that it brings me every day. I love my Savior so much because I know that it is only through Him that I can receive a redemption of my sins. I am definitely not perfect but I know that through him I can become more perfect. Every day I try to come closer to Him by trying to love others like He does.

What do Mormons believe about family?

Mormons believe that families can be eternal. That means that even after you die you can live with your family forever if you are sealed together in the temple. Families are valued institutions in the LDS church and are the fundamental unit of the church. Many of the commandment that God has given us are meant to protect the family because of its eternal significance. Show more Show less
