Hi I'm Leslie

I grew up in the Military life, became a wife, a mother, and a nurse. I am a Mormon!

About Me

I love to read, quilt, meet people, take walks, meet people, cook with my grandchildren, laugh, listen...above all I love being a wife, mother, and find immeasurable joy in being a grandmother.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the church by good faithful loving parents. Traveling all over the world, I have never been questioned as to "Why I am a Mormon", until my junior year in High School. I had an English teacher, who's opinion of the LDS religion was less then stellar. To pass his class, we were assigned a topic, and had to stand and present it to the class, being able to answer any questions presented to us. The topic he presented to me was "Do I Believe in Abortion?" The day came and I stood, presented my subject and my response to this question, and asked if there were any questions. The only question came from this teacher "Do you really believe what you said or is it because you have been brainwashed by being a Mormon". Sixteen years old! I remember closing my eyes briefly and uttering a prayer on how to answer and not be angry. Opening my eyes I looked at the startle faces of my peers, stared at my teacher, and bore witness of who I was and that I would not be moved. I was the daughter of wonderful earthly parents, but above all I was the daughter of a wonderful Heavenly Father, a younger sister of a wonderful loving brother, and I was a Mormon. I picked up my books and walked out of the room. It was the turning point of my life...I needed to stand and be accounted for! I am a Mormon!

How I live my faith

Though I have had many church callings, working in the Emergency Department has been the window and mirror to my soul. Watching and working with those whose faith have been tested has been a journey of discovery for not only them, but has increased my own faith. Many times I have closed my eyes briefly and uttered a prayer to my Heavenly Father to know how to be an example to not only those who are dealing with heart wrenching situations, but to hold firm and not be moved in my own faith and commitment to whom I am and whom I represent. The power of faith! The power of Prayer!
