Hi I'm Brittanie

I'm a daughter. I love spending time with my family. I'm a collage graduate. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love spending time with my family and go over to my grandma's house for dinner every Sunday. We love spending time together even if all we are doing is reading in the same room. My family is amazing and they support me in so many ways. They are a big part of why I now have my Associates degree, which was a big goal for me to accomplish. I also love spending time with my friends. We love to make food and hang out together.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because after I read the Book of Mormon and prayed to know if it was true, I got my answer and that answer was that it's true. I haven't always been a Mormon, in fact, I never imagined I would be one. I had some friends who were Mormon growing up but my family already had their faith and even though we didn't go to church I was Protestant like my mom and that was how it was always going to be, or so I thought. Aside from praying on occasion I never really thought much about religion or faith. I believed the Bible was true but I never thought there could be anything more. Then in the summer between middle school and high school breast cancer took my moms life. Never in my life had I felt so much despair or been in such a dark place. I didn't stop going to school or spending time with my family but the grief was real and it was hard. I began to wonder why my friends were so happy, even though I didn't have words for how I was feeling at the time. Then one Christmas my friend prayed to know what to give my for Christmas and that year she gave me a jar of coins and a Book of Mormon. That gift has changed my life. The change wasn't immediate or something that happened quickly. It was something I had to pray about and learn about for a very long time before I knew that this faith was true and then over a year after that before I was baptized. Joining a faith different than my family's faith was hard. They didn't want me to become a Mormon and that made it even more important that I know, without a doubt, that this faith is true. I know that this is true. Everything I have learned and everything I am learning brings me closer to Christ and makes me a better person. I have prayed to know and God answered my prayer. I know, without a doubt, that this faith is true. The Book of Mormon is the word of God. Joseph Smith really did see Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. His prayer to know what faith to join truly was answered and my prayer was answered too. It's true.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by praying to Heavenly Father every day and by reading his word in the scriptures. I also live my faith by helping others whenever I can and by doing my best to brighten the day of those I meet.
