Hi I'm Jake

I play guitar. I run competitively. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I currently work 2 jobs and am awaiting the upcoming date of my report to the MTC. In the past six years I've grown up in between sprawling cornfields and suburbs. I love playing guitar, running competitively, and cereal.

Why I am a Mormon

No one knows you like the Lord does, and you cannot truly know yourself until you know God. I am blessed to have been able to call myself a member of the LDS Church as I've been taught the precepts of the Gospel from a very young age. I strive every day to know God better than I did the day before, and I know that anyone else can come to this knowledge no matter where they stand in relation to their family, friends, to society, or to God. It is not a knowledge that one gets in a sudden burst but in slow yet continuous revelation. As I am still constantly striving to better myself and come closer to our Heavenly Father, my conversion story is not yet complete. I work every day to make it complete. I believe reaching Heaven is not so much an end goal but a journey upon a path that we can either choose to follow or stray from. My hope is that I and all who read this choose to stay upon the path. This I testify of in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

How I live my faith

I teach a Sunday School class of 10 & 11 year olds and on Wednesdays I'm their assistant scoutmaster. I'm learning how to become a missionary and how to preach the Gospel to others. I love the challenges that come along with the roles I've been assigned to fulfill.
