Hi I'm Stephen Funk

I like roller skating. I play the banjo. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Who am I? I'm just a typical college kid trying to make his way in the world. I have been enrolled at BYU, and will be studying Mechanincal Engineering when I return. I really love playing music, and have started somewhat of a collection of different musical instruments in my room back at home. Right now I am in the Missionary Training Center in Provo, preparing to serve a mission in Buenos Aires, Argentina!

Why I am a Mormon

There is a scripture in the Book of Mormon that reads: "And moreover, I would desire that ye should consider on the blessed and happy state of those that keep the commandments of God. For behold, they are blessed in all things, both temporal and spiritual; and if they hold out faithful to the end they are received into heaven, that thereby they may dwell with God in a state of never-ending happiness" (Mosiah 2:41). Never ending happiness! When I first read this verse, my heart welled up inside me. I knew that the gospel taught within the Church of Jesus Christ was true, and I knew that this verse was true. Upon understanding these two principles, I realized that nothing else mattered. Living faithful to my baptismal covenants- living as a Mormon- is the only way to receive true, lasting joy in this life and in the life to come. And oh what a joy it will be!

How I live my faith

I have been called as a missionary for this church. I have been called to invite others to come unto Christ by helping them receive the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ. I love the Lord with all my heart, and want to share that love with the people of Buenos Aires!
