Hi I'm Heidi

Small town, adventure ready, girl of Shelley Idaho, who's got big dreams. Called to serve in Lubbock Texas, and i'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am number 3 out of a family of 6 kids. I am currently a college student, majoring in exercise physiology with a minor in videography/photography. I love being active and trying new things, such as surfing, even though i grew up in the land locked state of Idaho. I'm a aspiring doctor but I really love taking my passion of photography to capture moments in life and create lasting memories. One of my biggest dreams is to some day be able to travel the world and capture different cultures lifestyles through the lense of my camera. I'm taking a break from school, leaving my family and friends and my small town, to serve an LDS mission in Lubbock Texas for the next 18 months and couldn't be more excited.

Why I am a Mormon

I've been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints my whole life. I've been able to see as I grow up what a difference having this gospel in my life does for me. It brings me great happiness as it creates close and strong family bonds. It brings me comfort and understanding that I know my family can be together forever. Literally. It gives my life purpose and creates a goal for me each day to be a better person. In writing I have been a member of this church my whole life but i'd consider myself a convert. I never doubted the gospel or the standards our church holds but as I grew up I developed a desire. I needed to know if all we stood for and "give up" was worth it. In the Book of Mormon in one of the last books, the Book of Moroni chapter 10, an invitation is extended to pray and ask God, our eternal Father in Heaven if the words within are true. So I did. I received an answer that was as real as life itself and a confirmation that this is his only true and living church. Being adventure ready, I am constantly looking for the next fun thing to do but the fun only lasts so long and then what? This gospel is what life is all about, and i'm so grateful to be a part of it.

How I live my faith

I believe that actions speak louder than words, they are always someones first impression of another human. The Savior taught us to love and serve one another, although somtimes harder to do than say, I truly try to love everyone I meet and really get to know a person so they will always have a friend to turn to. By giving kindness and love to others thats really what our church is all about, loving one another.
