Hi I'm Mariah

I grew up in Idaho! I am about to embark on an 18 month mission in England, Birmingham. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 19 years old, and I just graduated from high school a few months ago. My hobbies include teaching and playing the piano, playing with my dogs, baking yummy treats, and spending time with my family. I will be attending Utah State in two years once I have returned home from my mission in England. In high school I participated in choir!! I love to sing and share my love of Christ through my singing!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into this wonderful church, but I still had to make a choice to be a member and live the gospel of Jesus Christ! I learned at an early age of 10 years that our Heavenly Father hears and answers our prayers. As my family was going through a hard time, I learned that I could turn to Him in prayer. I knew someone was listening to me because of the peace I felt each night. I have read the Book of Mormon, which is the keystone of this religion, and I have felt and seen the truth it contains. It has brought answers of peace and comfort to my heart. I am a Mormon, because I know Jesus Christ lives and knows us personally!

How I live my faith

I have a church calling where I play the piano for the young children of my ward! I love to see their bright smiling faces as they sing the song I get to play for them. I get to help them grow closer to their Heavenly Father and Savior through the music that is shared each week! I love to go visit the elderly in my area and to help them in anyway they need, most of the time the entails listening to some great stories and playing skipbo!

What blessings can you receive from reading the Book of Mormon, the Bible, and other scriptures?

Mariah
You can receive blessings of understanding and peace. If there is something troubling your mind and heart then you can turn to the scriptures for help. You can read by topic or just find any place to read; it doesn't matter. I know that the scriptures are a way for Heavenly Father to speak to and guide us, so if you need guidance the scriptures will help. Heavenly Father teaches us "line upon line and precept upon precept... and blessed are those who hearken unto my precepts" (The Book of Mormon 2 Nephi 28:30) This means that we won't be given everything at once, but a little bit at a time to help give us a better understanding.
