Hi I'm Nora

I'm a retired registered dietitian and college professor. I collect kaleidoscopes and children's books. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I recently retired from a long and rewarding career as a college professor. I received my BS and MS degrees in Dietetics from Brigham Young University and my PhD in Institutional Management from Kansas State University (go Wildcats!). Two years before retiring, I became a wife and grandmother when I married a wonderful widower. I enjoy working in the garden, cooking, sewing (and collecting gadgets for gardening, cooking, and sewing), as well as reading and attending the theater and ballet. My hobbies also include collecting kaleidoscopes (over 30 at last count, and they're all different) and children's books.

Why I am a Mormon

Several generations on both my mother's and father's sides were Mormons, so I was raised in the Mormon faith. However, as a very young teenager I realized for myself that the gospel of Jesus Christ is indeed true, and that it provides guidance, strength, comfort, and help in all of life's challenges and joys. The Book of Mormon is truly another testament of Jesus Christ, and every time I read it my love and appreciation for Him deepen. Living in accordance with gospel principles brings me peace and great joy.

How I live my faith

I love to serve in the church and have taught children, teens, young adults, and adults in Sunday School, and in the youth, children's, and women's organizations. My faith affects every decision I make and every interaction I have, and I try to pattern my life after the Savior's example.
