Hi I'm Abby Martinez

I'm a runner, a caregiver, I love volleyball, outdoors, the beach, and fruit. I love serving others. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm from the Pacific Northwest and I love sports and being outdoors! I'm an avid runner and hiker, and I enjoy biking and swimming as well. I enjoy competing in triathlons and other running events. I also enjoy spending time with my family, they are my world. Right now I'm working as a CNA and I love my job because I get to take care of people. I love getting to know them and listening to their stories. I just finished my first year of college where I'm studying to be a nurse, my goal is to eventually become a Nurse Practitioner. As of November 18 I will be serving a full time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the Salt Lake City West mission. I am so excited for the opportunity to serve my Heavenly Father and to serve my fellow man!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Catholic faith, but my family didn't go to church very often. But I was taught at a very young age to rely on Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. As I grew older I began to question what role and how much of a role they needed to play in my life. I found my answers through the members of the LDS church who where always so kind to my family in our times of need. It is through this church that I learned that God knows me individually and loves me. I was encouraged to find my personal relationship with Him, and I did! I learned how to receive guidance and direction in my life from God, which is the best thing that I could ever ask for. I know our Savior, Jesus Christ lives and that he loves me too. I know they want us to come back to live with them and that we can live forever with our families one day and that Joseph Smith really did see God the Father and Jesus Christ, and that God haven't left us, he still talks to us today through a living modern day prophet, and I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the same church that Christ established when he was on the earth. Anyone who wants to know why this is the true church can find out for themselves, and receive their own answer through the power of the Holy Spirit if they have real intent to know and pray to God, asking in faith and are willing to put in the effort to find out, I promise you will find your answer.

How I live my faith

I live my faith through trying to serve others and be a friend to everyone. Christ was the perfect example of this. I was raised with good values by loving parents, learning the gospel gave a purpose to those values that my parents had taught me. It helped me to understand why our standards in the church are so high. Our Heavenly Father loves us so much that He wants us to be as happy as possible, and the best way we can do that is by following Him and the example of our Savior Jesus Christ. I volunteer coach high school cross country and volleyball teams, and enjoy helping anybody who might need help. I love my job because it allows me to exercise the attributes that Jesus Christ possessed that I am working to gain, such as charity and patience.
