Hi I'm Elisa

I grew up in Huntsville, Texas. I'm a biochemistry major at the University of Texas in Austin on a pre-med track. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I come from a family of 5 girls with two physicians for parents, and I lived in the same small town for 15 years of my life. I'm now a biochemistry major at the University of Texas in Austin and plan to attend medical school following my graduation, hopefully to become a pediatrician. Currently, I'm preparing to serve as a missionary in the Germany Frankfurt Mission! I love playing soccer, hiking, fishing, and playing piano.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I absolutely know that this is God’s church. It's teachings offer answers and peace that is itself a testimony of its truthfulness. Heavenly Father restored His gospel to the earth through a prophet of God. I know that the scriptures are the words of God. I find comfort and answers as I study them. We are led today by a prophet who receives revelation from Heavenly Father. Heavenly Father hears our prayers and will bless us as we turn to Him. The Book of Mormon is true. It testifies of Christ, offers guidance, and brings me closer to the Savior and my Father in Heaven than by any other way. I am a daughter of God. He knows me and loves me. By living according to Christ’s teachings, we can become more like Christ and grow closer to our Father in Heaven. I know that the Savior suffered for the sins of the world, that he died on the cross and was resurrected, and because of that, I can return to live with my Heavenly Father and I can be with my family forever. I have been so blessed to be a part of God's true church. My faith in Christ's atonement offers hope and comfort that can be found in no other way.

How I live my faith

I am currently involved in the missionary efforts of my ward and participate in meetings and work to find ways to reach to the community. I'm also part of an honors program for pre-health professionals and I participate in service opportunities in my community through that organization. I live my faith by trying to follow the example set by my Savior and striving to be more like him.
