Hi I'm Linda Hicks

I'm a daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I taught elementary school the first few years of my marriage, but was fortunate enough to be a stay-at-home mom with my six children. Music is an important part of my life. I played violin for many years, and my husband and I instilled a love for music in our children. I have enjoyed creating things with my hands: crafts, needlework, painting, porcelain dolls. Now arthritis interferes with some of my ability to do those things. I adore my 13 grandchildren, and we have many traditions that we enjoy together.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Mormon church, but as I have grown up, I've had many opportunities to learn why I want to remain a Mormon. The teachings and doctrines of Christ which I learned as a child carry with them great blessings, and the organization of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormons) gives me the chance to practice those teachings: loving and serving others, overcoming trials, repenting of my own sins and weaknesses, strengthening my own faith, and teaching others are but a few.

How I live my faith

I have had the opportunity to work with many of the age groups in my church, from 2-3-year-old nursery age classes to the adult women. My husband and I have been responsible for large musical productions, including "Fiddler On the Roof" with a full orchestra. The special friendships I have developed with these service opportunities continue to bless my life.
