Hi I'm Noah Michael Vaughn

I grew up in California and was baptized at 8. I'm the first in my immediate family to serve a mission. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Noah V. Some of the hobbies I try to fill my time with are cross-country running, fishing, and reading a good book. I achieved the rank of Eagle Scout at age 18, and I am in the process of becoming a licensed EMT. I am the first in my immediate family to serve an LDS mission. I have a profound desire to continue in the way of the Lord, studying and pondering His words and His scriptures.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was the mere age of 8, I loved to play baseball. At the same time my parents were investigating and were later baptized into the Church. I eventually decided I should get baptized as well, and coordinated with my parents the date I was to be baptized into the Church. However, the date was later discovered to be the same date as the Opening Day for baseball. Confronted with this decision, being baptized or participating in Opening Day, I knelt down and prayed as to what I should do for I felt I didn't have the capacity to choose correctly. I bear witness that though I did not receive a visiting of angels or a large spiritual stirring in my bosom, I received a soft, light whispering telling me that I already know the correct choice, but that it is up to me. I also testify that I was also tempted to ignore my baptism and to attend Opening Day of which I knew was satan. Ultimately, I heeded not the tempting choice of the devil and decided to attend my baptism. I later found out that Opening Day was rained out and rescheduled, which was a true sign I made the right choice. I follow the Gospel of our Savior, Jesus Christ, because I know he does not leave us un-aided, nor does he ignore us, even the prayer of a child, for He loves us all. I testify that our Savior atoned for the sins of the world and did so out of love. I know the Savior lives. I know he hears our prayers and, although it is not perfect, I utilize my faith and trust in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ in His timing, His love and His gospel. I also testify that as we work and utilize our God-given agency to study and read the scriptures and the Book of Mormon, His spirit will descend upon our heart, mind and souls and will continue to strengthen our testimonies and knowledge of the Gospel and will enable us to overcome all things through the Atonement of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I am always searching for opportunities to serve others. I desire everyday to change someone's day for the better, smiling at people I see or helping someone who appears in need. Even offering your assistance to an individual, even if they don't accept it, can brighten their day. I serve in my community in a similar way, providing aid to those in need, and being a positive influence in their day. I have achieved the rank of Eagle Scout (very last minute, partial motherly influence required) and through my Eagle project I have served both my scout troop as well as my high school. I testify that the rank of Eagle is an absolute blessing that continues to strengthen my confidence and in turn provides a catalyst for remaining a positive influence on the individuals I meet. I am a family history consultant, a person to help members in my ward with their genealogy work and to strengthen their hearts to their ancestors. Although I am not the best example in performing my family history work (that award goes to my committed mother), I know that the work of genealogy is one of dire importance both to our spiritual growth and our ancestor's salvation.

What is the role of the husband and the wife in the family?

Noah Michael Vaughn
The husband, wife and the family are ordained of God, and it is their role to bring into the world other pre-mortal spirits to receive a physical body that they too may have physical experiences and learn the differences between right and wrong. Husband and wife are also responsible for the protection and providing for their children, to ensure their children are equipped with the tools that are needed to survive in their physical life. The children that bless the family and home each come with their own developed personality and it is also upon the shoulders of the husband and wife to care for them and to help them mature. The children who enter a family's home also are to be guided by their parents to grow closer to their Savior, Jesus Christ. Children learn the teachings of love and of service, of obedience to God's laws and of his abiding love for all children who choose to follow his plan and enter into a physical body to experience mortality and to grow for themselves in the truthfulness of the gospel. Who wrote the Book of Mormon?

Noah Michael Vaughn
The Book of Mormon, another testament of Jesus Christ, was written by prophets of old. These prophets record the history of their lives and travels as ancient disciples of Christ. The Book of Mormon also recalls the actions, service, charity, and love of Jesus Christ upon the America continent and it's people. The Book also is a collection of ancient recordings that prophets and their scribes wrote that tell of the truthfulness of the Gospel of Christ. The book was translated from the language used at the time of Jesus, and later translated by the modern prophet Joseph Smith and his assistant. The promise of Moroni found at the end of the Book of Mormon tells of the blessings and the knowledge that will be gained by reading and studying the Book of Mormon and the stories contained within. What do Mormons believe is the purpose of life?

Noah Michael Vaughn
Our purpose on the Earth, according to God's eternal Plan of Salvation, is to receive a physical body of flesh and bone. In which we will go through this life utilizing our God-given agency to choose between good and evil and to gain experiences and personality traits that will mirror that of our Heavenly Father and His son Jesus Christ. We have a purpose to learn while on the Earth and to grow in our testimonies, faith, knowledge and conviction of the Gospel of Christ. We as sons and daughters of a loving Heavenly Father are sent here to gain these things and to gain eternal family relationships so that one day we may return to our loving Father in Heaven through the Atonement of His Begotten Son, Jesus Christ.
