Hi I'm Taylor

I'm an adventurer. A fashion blogger. A mental health and self care advocate. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

There are three things I love more than almost anything else in life: • Road trips • Cowboy boots • Self care I can't go more than a few weeks without hitting the open road and embarking on a new adventure somewhere. God has given us such a beautiful world, and I strongly believe that it should be explored! When I'm not road tripping, I'm blogging. I started my own fashion blog, CountryHipster.com, in March 2015 when I needed a distraction from a breakup. I own more than 20 pairs of cowboy boots, so I decided to put outfits together to show people you DON'T have to look like you're going to a rodeo when you wear cowboy boots. I love fashion blogging because it gives me an amazing opportunity to be creative AND to connect with other people. Eventually, the blog evolved from just a fashion blog to a place where I could write about hope, positivity, and happiness. After battling anxiety, depression, and self injury for more than a year and a half, I decided to use my platform to add a little more joy to the world. I hated feeling alone in my struggles, and I want to do all I can to make sure no one else feels alone. And when I'm not road tripping or blogging, I work as a social media manager for an AMAZING consumer electronics company. All in all, my life is amazing and I know each and every blessing I have has come from our loving Heavenly Father.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because nothing else brings as much peace to my life. I've tried finding peace through exercise, travel, and even other people. But none of these things fulfill me quite like the teachings of Jesus Christ do. When I attend church, I know that God loves me. I know that He wants the best for me. I know that in His eyes, I am enough.

How I live my faith

During the October 2015 General Conference, President Monson encouraged church members to "let your light so shine before men that they may see your good work and glorify your Father who is in Heaven." I try to let my light so shine through my writings on my blog and through my daily interactions with people. The world is full of a lot of darkness, and some of that darkness stems from mental illness. Having suffered from depression and anxiety, I decided the best way for me to uplift others is to blog about hope, happiness, and the peace that comes by following Christ. I've discovered that it isn't enough to attend church or to read my scriptures or to attend the temple. I have to spread light and hope to those around me, and writing is the best way I know how to bring people to Christ.
