Hi I'm Craig Edwin

Born a member, served a mission, spent time away from the Church after divorce. Now I have 3 boys under 3 and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a 49 year old father of three boys under 3. I was born a member of the church to "goodly parents"; after a mission in Kobe, Japan and Fresno, California I attended BYU and married. To my sadness, I divorced 3 years later. I spent several years away from full activity in the church, though my belief in the core principles never wavered. I was not, however, worthy to attend the Temple. Over 10 years ago, I meant an amazing woman at the Longfellow Chapel as part of the Singles' Congregation. We married and have a joyous life together, including the challenge of raising a young family much later that most of our peers. I love spending time with my boys. I love music and play the guitar and sing. I love to read, draw and write. I love the Movies and playing games, including video games. Making people laugh is perhaps my greatest joy, though I am satisfied with a batting average of just over .300--if 3 out of 10 jokes hit the mark, I consider myself lucky.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been taught by parents who bore witness of the truth of the Mormon faith since I was a small child. I have read the Book of Mormon, followed Moroni's promise found in Moroni 10:3-5 to ask if it is not true. I know that the book is the word of God and by extension Joseph Smith was a prophet in our day. I have had many unmistakable witnesses from the Holy Spirt--I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is God's living church on the earth, and that we have a living prophet and apostles today. Jesus sits at the head of the Church. Though I have trials, and struggles of faith, I hearken back to those experiences when I had a profound witness of the truth. I cannot deny those witnesses, despite the sometimes frequent doubts that creep in. God lives and loves us; this life gives us the opportunity to learn and to exercise our moral agency to choose God's plan of happiness for us.

How I live my faith

I strive every moment to understand to know do and do the will of the Lord for me. This is understood through the scriptures and especially the whisperings of the Holy Sprit. This is the "strait and narrow path" for me. The path is only "one commandment wide"--one thing to do to be in accordance with His will, and everything else to be out of sync with that will. Most importantly I strive to be empathetic and kind--Charity, or the Pure Love of Christ is the highest level of living the Gospel of Jesus Chirst
