Hi I'm Christina Turner

I'm a California girl. I love my family, playing sports, and reading. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I went to a year of college but I am taking a break to go serve a mission for the church. Throughout high school, I was involved in sports. I played basketball and did track and field. I love going to watch football and basketball games. I love playing all different kinds of sports and being active. I also enjoy reading books and watching old movies. I love history and learning about it. I have a big family and I love it. I enjoy being able to play with all my nieces and nephews. I hope to have a family of my own.

Why I am a Mormon

I am Mormon because I love the gospel and it brings me great happiness. It brings me such joy that I have decided to serve a mission so I can bring that joy to others. I know the Book of Mormon is true and that Joseph Smith was a Prophet of God. I know Christ loves me and He atoned for me so that I could live with Him and Heavenly Father again. I know that this is the true church and no other church can offer the truth I have learned and the joy I feel. I am Mormon because I know it is right and because it is what Heavenly Father wants for me.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to live the principles of the gospel everyday. I am preparing to serve a mission by reading my scripture and praying daily. I go to church every Sunday and do activities with my friends from church like playing volleyball once a week every week. I am also teaching the 10 and 11 year old girls in my ward to sign a song in American Sign Language which they will do at church.

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Christina Turner
The Atonement of Christ is made up of three parts: His suffering in the Garden of Gethsemane, His death on the cross, and His Resurrection. When we sin, we are disobeying God and moving away from Him. There is a punishment attached to not following God's law. We suffer for our sins and mistakes but we don't have to. If we truly repent and use Christ's suffering, we don't need to suffer for our own sins. Christ already did. He loved us enough to take upon him all our sufferings, temptations, afflictions, and infirmities. He knows exactly what we are going through and has perfect empathy for us as individuals. His Atonement is the reason why we can be forgiven and be clean again. It is the reason why we can become perfect, though not in this life. It is the reason why we can live with God again. It is the reason we can be happy in our life here on earth and have eternal joy in the life to come. I know Christ's Atonement is real. I know He loves me and He knows me. I am so grateful that I can be forgiven again and again. Show more Show less
