Hi I'm Alyssia

I love to sing, dance, hike, and learn new things. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am from Silver City, New Mexico, but I've lived in Arizona and Mississippi. My dad has been a member of the church his whole life and my mom is a convert, but I've grown up with the gospel in my life. I love to dance, sing, hike, and meet new people. I graduated from high school May 2015, and I am currently studying at Brigham Young University. I am aspiring to be a great dancer, but hope to one day go into the medical field. I love interacting with people and learning about others' lives. I believe that good friends are important in life's journeys. I am a daughter of a loving Heavenly Father.

Why I am a Mormon

I have a strong testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I know that we are all children of our Heavenly Father, who loves us. We each have a specific purpose here on Earth. Nothing is possible without God, but everything is possible through Him. I love my Savior, and I know that He loves me.

How I live my faith

I am a Home Evening Leader in my Young Single Adult ward, as well as a member in our ward choir. I have two little sisters to whom I try to be the best example of love and righteousness that I can.

What do Mormons believe is the purpose of life?

Alyssia
The purpose of life is to find joy and happiness. Jesus Christ died for us. He suffered for our sins that we may become clean and perfect. No unclean thing can enter the kingdom of God, but through the atonement of Jesus Christ, we can be cleansed from our guilt and sin. First, we must exercise faith in Christ. Faith will lead us to repent. As we repent, we will continue to want to grow closer to God. We should then be baptized, and confirmed. When we are confirmed, we receive the gift of the Holy Ghost, who is a constant companion to us. The Holy Ghost helps to to make good decisions and provides comfort. Then, we must endure until the end. We should constantly try to better ourselves. With this freedom from guilt, I know that we can find eternal happiness both in this life and the next. God will never leave us alone. Show more Show less
