Hi I'm Ashton

The mountains are my home. Adventure is my life. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am from Colorado and love the beautiful outdoors. I enjoy hiking, biking, stargazing, and visiting new places. I love cheerleading and speech and debate. Large crowds make me happy. I am the oldest of five children. Netflix is great. I like cooking and trying new things. I am preparing to serve in the Chile Concepción South Mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have found that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints has provided the most answers, peace, and joy. Through much pondering and many prayers I have come to know that the Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ. It takes nothing away from the Bible, and it helps me to further understand God's plan for me. I know that through this gospel my family can be together forever. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God, and that through the power of God, Joseph was able to translate the Book of Mormon. I know that just like there were prophets in the olden days like Adam, Noah, and Moses, there is a prophet on the earth today named Thomas S. Monson to lead and guide us. I know that it is through the Atonement of Jesus Christ I can repent of my sins and return to live with Him someday. I am a Mormon because every part of this church points to goodness and love, peace and joy. It helps me to be a better person and to see the best in others. It helps me to feel like life is meaningful, hopeful, and good, despite all the trials I go through. I am a Mormon because this gospel is the best thing that I have found in my life.

How I live my faith

One of the things that I am in charge of for my church is organizing safe and fun activities for people that are unmarried and between ages 18 and 30. It's a great way to get to know more people, and have fun at the same time. I also live my faith by trying every day to become a better person and grow closer to my Savior Jesus Christ. I read both the Bible and the Book of Mormon and pray to my Father in Heaven daily. I choose to adhere to the guidelines set in place for me like dressing modestly, refraining from foul language, not partaking of harmful substances, and staying away from inappropriate media. I also attend all my church meetings and dedicate the Sabbath to the Lord. I am currently preparing to serve in the Chile Concepción South Mission.
