Hi I'm Ben Williams

I grew up in North East Mississippi. I'm serving a full time mission in Mesa, Arizona. I love the Lord. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a health enthusiast. I work at a YMCA as a fitness attendant. I love soccer and most other sports. I have completed two years worth of school for physical therapy. I like to sculpt things whether it be from wood or clay. I enjoy reading and writing. I'm the youngest of six kids and I have 10 (almost 11) nieces and nephews. Beyond all that I am mostly mellow and relaxed.

Why I am a Mormon

Like many others I have had doubts. I grew up as a Mormon and went through the proper motions to continue that tradition, but a true conversion is more than just "going though the motions". I found that my faith and testimony was heavily leaning on my parents testimony and faith. Like a house built on sand, It cannot withstand the storms of life. Through bad associations and choices I found myself completely removed from the church and its members. Never in my life have I been so unhappy, but I distracted myself from that fact and coped by other means. Long story short I hit a bottom in my life that left me desperate and scared and alone. I did the only thing I could think, pray. I testify that no matter how far we go, no matter how unworthy we are, our Heavenly Father does not forget us. His love can reach us and he answers our crying prayers with calming peace. I was never alone and I never will be. This experience helped me to quickly 180 my life because at that moment I had a sure testimony of the reality of God, his son Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost. The cleansing effects of our Savior's atonement are real. It allowed me to truly change, and I still am! I also know that humility and prayer go hand in hand, though I don't recommend waiting so long to find that out. I have lived by the worlds standards and I have lived by God's standards and I can say in total confidence that true happiness is found in obedience to the commandments and laws given by our loving and all knowing Creator and Redeemer. That is mostly why i'm Mormon and I say that in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

How I live my faith

My faith is the foundation of who I am. Everyday I make a conscious decision to uphold the standards required of me, and I love doing it! I am very active in the young single adult program and I try to teach lessons, lead activities, or provide refreshments as often as I can. I have been called to serve in the Mesa, Arizona Mission and I know that it is by divine revelation that I have been called there. As we serve each other we serve our God, and as a consequence our love for both increases in way that brings true happiness.
