Hi I'm Emma

I'm a cellist, I'm a math education major, I'm a mormon.

About Me

I've been called to serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Lubbock, Texas. When I get back I plan to return to college to study to be a secondary math educator (although I'm not sure how long that major is going to last). I love learning about math and all things science. I am interested in how we can improve the public education that is offered in the US. I have played the cello since I was little and I have loved every second of it. My whole family is musical as well and we love to create new and old sounds together. Both sides of my family have been members of this church for tens of generations. My parents have helped me to understand and learn about the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into this church, and therefore didn't really think about my personal beliefs until I was in high school. My whole life I had followed in my parents footsteps and done my best to be a good and loving person. It wasn't until I read the Book of Mormon (Another Testament of Jesus Christ) all the way through that I truly became converted to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I took Moroni's suggestion and I prayed. I asked God if the Book of Mormon was not true. My answer was a simple but powerful one: You know, and have known all along, that this is the true word of God. After that moment, I knew that the eternal love I was feeling was too perfect not to be shared with those who seek it. So I decided to serve a mission. I have sacrificed money, time, efforts, and relationships to go to Texas (and New Mexico) and find out those who are waiting to be taught the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Every sacrifice was given in love and faith, knowing that I, my family, and those I teach, will be blessed. If you are reading this and you have not read the Book of Mormon, please, please read it and find out for yourself if it is true. Whether or not you are a member, every child of God needs to know personally of His love for you. The only way to find that out is to seek God through prayer. In the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

How I live my faith

I have a calling in my congregation to teach 8 year olds about the stories of Jesus Christ. I do my best to help them understand Christ's life before, during, and after he lived on Earth. My goal as their teacher is for them to feel and understand God's love for them.
