Hi I'm Katie

I am a college student getting ready to serve my mission. I am happy to be a Mormon!

About Me

Outdoorsy adventures are my favorite kind; I love to rock climb, hike, run, fish, and do basically anything outside. I am a college student who is still trying to figure out what to major in. I am definitely a first aid junkie! Cooking and eating are also things I enjoy, as well as playing the piano and singing all the time. Throughout the last few years of my life, I've worked several different jobs to earn money for school and the LDS mission I am about to embark on. I've been a nanny, a substitute teacher, in the food industry, on a farm, as a waitress at a tourist resort by the Grand Canyon, as a cleaning lady, at a Farmer's market, in a video rental store, in a snow cone shack, as a youth counselor, and more. Between all my jobs, I feel like I can relate to most people! I'm also short and sweet, not even five feet tall, despite my efforts. I love my family and love my life, and most of all, I love being a Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

The restored gospel is the happiest and most important thing in my life. Through it, I can have an eternal family. I know that death has no victory. Through my savior, Jesus Christ, I know I can be forgiven of all my sins when I repent, and I can become a better person every day. I am blessed with a constant and lasting peace in this life, and I never have to live in confusion. I can always pray to my Father in Heaven and He gives me direction. I am also able to read the scriptures that hold the writings of the prophets in the days of old, as well as listen to the prophets and apostles here on the earth today. Through the prophet Joseph Smith, God's Priesthood has been restored to the earth, and I feel so blessed to have access to that.

How I live my faith

I am about to serve an eighteen-month mission for my church. This is a really exciting opportunity for me, because I love talking about the gospel! I like to share it with everyone I meet. So many people are looking for happiness and peace in this life, and I know that the gospel can help them find that! I have also made it a habit to attend the LDS temple weekly. Inside the temple, I can further the Lord's work by bringing people to Christ and enabling families to live together forever, even after death. It is a beautiful work and I feel so blessed to be part of it.
